RoadMap Saskatoon
Gil Penelosa Liveable Cities Lecture

Official Website

Continuing a green lecture series begun with last year's inspirational visit from Jan Gehl, Road Map Saskatoon and Saskatoon Cycles are proud to present an evening with Gil Penalosa. As he has done around the world, Mr. Penalosa will present a talk on how intuitive, human-friendly urban planning can help build stronger communities, stronger economies, and stronger citizens.

Have you felt hesitant to walk or cycle on Saskatoon's streets? Does downtown traffic congestion make you crazy? Do you wish your children could safely ride their bikes to school or friends' houses? Would you like to be less reliant on your car to get you from place to place? These questions reflect a feeling that maybe our city has been designed more for cars than for people. Whether your reasons are related to health, money, or the environment, you'll want to attend this event.

Road Map Saskatoon is a local group committed to promoting urban sustainability. The prime mission of Saskatoon Cycles is to encourage our city to develop a comprehensive and safe cycling network. Join the chorus of voices that are gathering to transform Saskatoon into a world class, people oriented city!

The Liveable Cities Lecture Series presents: Gil Penalosa
Date: Thursday, September 30th, 2010
Time: Starting at 7:00 pm, with reception to follow.
Tickets: $15 @ Picatic

Tommy Wiseau's
The Room

Official Website

Come and experience Tommy Wiseau's 'masterpiece' at The Roxy Theatre! A special midnight screening will be held Saturday, October 16th.
Admission: $10.

The Room is an electrifying American black comedy about love, passion, betrayal and lies, starring writer/director Tommy Wiseau as a successful banker with a great respect for—and dedication to—the people in his life, especially his future wife Lisa (Juliette Danielle). As the film depicts friendships and relationships in the lives of its five major characters, it raises life's real and most-asked question: Can you really trust anyone? A midnight cult sensation, this quirky black comedy has been running for over 6 years in Los Angeles and is ready to take the rest of the country by storm. You'll want to be there for the devastation it will leave in its wake!
